Orchid depth of field

The first one is with a really high depeth of field. I don't like it
because it looks cluttered. The second one is with a lower depth of
fiedl so that only the orchids themselves are sharp. I like it
better. However, I should have shot two exactly the same.

Good use of depth of field. Generally I would agree with you and would prefer the shallow depth for this but there is something really beautiful about the lighting on the top one. I love that too. I agree that you should try not to go for cluttered. But still I like it. I do love to see flowers in their natural settings. Of course I know this is not natural but still it is nice to see where they are growing and that they mix the orchids up with other plants. I had always imagined they would be specimen plants on their own.

your fowers are lovely but the 1st one. my eye really doesn't know where to where to look 1st. but I find the second has lost some of the pizazz. but who am I to criticize.
