Beautiful colours Mary. A lovely smudge painting.
Rich, warm colours, lighting and reflections give a nice feeling to the original - looks like an old painting when smudge applied - nice work Mary
Thanks so much, ladies! YAY! As soon as I saw the actual arrangement at the restaurant, I thought, "Old Masters!" But, I did not do an old-masters-type painting. And I was waiting for someone to say they like the original better! LOL! But no matter; now I have both! And it does make a nice painting, I think. I may make it available as a card. I've been making some of my images available as cards for people to buy, but no one has bought any yet. Oh well. LOL!
Hope you get a buyer one day Mary!
Thanks, Kate; I need to advertise more on my blogs. But I've been too busy. I was on my feet all day today making a second Thanksgiving dinner because we didn't have turkey and I miss it--so I decided to make a second big meal with turkey, then no more I hope 'til Christmas--no more extras.
Everything is in the oven now. But I have to go uncover the turkey.
Mmmm. Do you have turkey at christmas also?. We always have turkey especially since I get an organic free range one for nothing from my son in law.
All this talk of turkeys is making me very hungry, I have been watching your slide show Mary and I look to my right and see my orchid with just two white blooms very similiar to your image, Anna sent it for my birthday last year, she named it Henrietta and she has Henry (pink flowers) in London. We compare notes on their progress through the year, unfortunately I seem to just get two huge flowers whereas she gets a grand show of about 15+ (think they maybe same family different brands) How did I get from Turkey to orchids ?????
I love orchids! There are a lot of different kinds! That could explain it!
If you need instructions as to how to post your slide show, let me know.
The Detroit folks don't like turkey, which reminds me, I wanted to check into extended stay america.
SO I can make turey for the SYracuse folks.
I got an Amish all natural freerange turkey, but I had to pay for it. I am still eating it.
Do you mean all Detroit folk or just Keith's family that don't like turkey? What do you mean about checking into extended stay america? Was your turkey good? Did they like it?
I don't know about anyone else, but Keith's family does not like turkey.
They had a crown roast of pork.
I made turkey and have been eating it MOSTLY myself. Turkey omelets. etc. None of the rest of them had any except Keith and Graham. Graham liked it. Keith tolerated it.
I wanted to check into Extended Stay America hoping they would have an oven to make Christmas dinner when we visit NY.
Are you staying with one of your daughters when you visit NY. Don't they have an oven? When are you going. Are you actually there over Christmas?
You'll be wishing you never mentioned it soon LOL!!!
Talking of Christmas I am being very BAH HUMBUG this year and not sending any Christmas cards although I am starting to feel guilty as they come in especially faraway relatives in Aus. Maybe I'd best send them but best do it quick.
We rarely stay with my daughters for various reasons---there are three of us and it is hard for them to accommodate--we were thinking of staying at Extended stay America in hopes of a good oven but they don't have one.
We are having Christmas HERE, 3 of them, one on the 24th, on on the 25th and one on the 26th, and then in Syracuse on New Years eve we will have another Christmas with my family.
I am feeling quite grinchly and Scroogely myself. Grrrr! ROWL!
Now it is all becoming clear. So extended stay America is a sort of hotel chain. Never heard of it before. Shame they don't have a big enough oven. Guess they don't really want you to stay that long! I was thinking it was a place where you could rent ovens temporarily or something like that.
Yes, it is a relatively inexpensive hotel chain for longer stays, but they only have a microwave and stovetop, no oven! :-(
I used to have a fairly large portable oven but we have such a small house I left it behind and now I wish I had it. It was big enough for a turkey.
