COLOURS - WHITE Scilly Lilies

This was a lucky occasion. I was taking pictures of these lilies and finished and we walked on. Later I found I'd lost a new pair of glasses I'd only just bought for £2.50. So we retraced our steps and found them by the lilies. When we returned the light was so much better. I have never been so pleased to mislay a pair of glasses. By the way you pronounce Scilly as Silly so Silly Lilies sounds good though they don't look silly!

I would love to know how the stems look on your monitor. Mine must have gone off for calibration as they are not the same now. On my main screen the stems get darker at the bottom as if they are fading out and that is how I like them but on my other screen they are clearly seen and lighter. But my guy is coming back soon as he wants to experiment on printing b&w on one of my printers that only takes one black ink.

These are FANTASTIC--I bet they win an award at BP!

(I assume you posted them there.)

Here's the weird thing--on the EMAILED version, the stems seem to fade to black, but less so on the blog. That is, they are more visible.)

I will have to go back and check.

The ,lighting is GREAT!!!!!

I tool one last night, but it didn't come out anywhere this good.

Glad you got your glasses back. What fortunate circumstances!

I think it is just the difference of being white as opposed to black background.

Thank you anyway. I guess everybody's screen is different. Yes I did post it to BP. I hope the judge's monitor looks the same as my main one - that is darker.

I have that same problem where I adjust soemthing the way I like it on one monitor and then it looks wretched on another. But this is a LOVELY lovely photo! It deserves an award.

It will be probably impossible for the others of us to match the quality of this picture in this category! :-(

(LOL!)

Thank you so much. I was kind of excited when I saw it. At least if it doesn't do anything on BP I am sure it will at CPS next season. We have no more competitions now. Next week is the AGM and prize giving then a big break until September.
I am going on a photoshoot with another member in the summer break. Never done that before with someone else. Would be fun with you though I know that!

Well there is a challenge for you to take a better shot! A bit of luck always comes in handy as it did on this occasion.

It's SUPER!

It is fun to photoshoot with another person!

It's fun, but it has both advantages and disadvantages.

It's companionable and enlightening to have company and watch how others work, and to have help and a willing model or someone to hold back an errant leaf.

But it can also be annoying if the other person is ridiculously slow or eats annoying food or has annoying habits. I have a dear friend that I used to go out with occasionally. He would drive and knew all kinds of good places to go, but he would eat nothing but junk food and not want to stop for a good meal, and was HORRIBLY SLOW (of course, he got GREAT PHOTOS but I would get bored waiting.) Overall though, it was still fun to do occasionally, and he gifted me with some of the work he did when we were together. And let me use his cool gear and taught me stuff, too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! :-D

I think it is nice to have a group that has an on and off season. That way, you don't get tired of it and really look forward to it.

I'm not holding out a lot of hope for getting a better shot, but MAYBE I'll be lucky or diligent.

That shot you have is really grand.

And I think the stems look good on this monitor.

Well the BP Editor's monitor must need calibrating because he/she never even noticed it. Ah well - try again next month and hope they have their glasses on and their monitors fixed!! And their brain attached!

WAHN! I really thought that one would WIN!!!!
