This was taken way back on 30th Jun and I am just finding time to go through and pick and sort and file. Fabby was 1 year old on 10th August. She was already walking when this was taken.
You are right. Maybe it would have been passable if it had been more out of focus. I'm not good at making instant decisions as you have to with kids. Just a candid I'm afraid without too much thought but I did like the eyes.

The eyes here are definitely the focus.
The colorful background is a little distracting. Pretty, interesting, but distracting.

The eyes are great. The face too. The picture is nice.

What if you cropped it?
Kids are hard--you have to just shoot a lot and hope some come out good.
OK I'm just going to clone out the blue and post it again.
